The TINE dairy in Trondheim is building a new warehouse that will support the group's aggressive growth strategy for the next 10 years.
TINE Midt-Norge in Trondheim, part of TINE Gruppa - Norway's largest dairy company - is creating the logistical base for the coming years’ growth. Currently, TINE Midt-Norge handles 82,500 tonnes of dairy products annually, which makes it Norway's largest of its kind aiming to grow 20 - 30 percent by 2020.

The objectives and a general desire to improve the efficiency have led to an extensive logistics project where Langebæk Logistik participates as project coordinators.
"Langebæk Logistik has taken over the project from a Norwegian consultant, who recommended Langebæk Logistik, as there are few dedicated logistics consultants in Norway. It was essential to have a specialist handle the many vendors. The cooperation between us is very good - both academically and socially - and the geographical distance is no obstacle to the project, "says the Iver Bjørgum, logistics responsible with TINE in Trondheim. Among other things, Iver looks forward to the reduction of the many non-value adding operations and manual processes.
Once the buildings are finished in the course of 2011, the TINE dairy will have a new high-bay warehouse, an advanced cooling tunnel and premises, which in every detail will meet the strict requirements for ergonomics, safety and environment.
”Due to the optimisation of the logistics layout we have experienced significant improvements through the supply chain. As an example, the local shops save a large amount of time ordering goods – today they spend down to half an hour per week ordering goods - previously, the same task took them a day. Furthermore, the stock of each shop has been reduced with up to 40%, which of course has also helped improve our liquidity. "
